That was the content of the workshop for USSH’s staff, lecturers, and postgraduates held on August 24th and August 25th.
The young researchers listened to 3 speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh (Vice Dean of Faculty of Sociology, USSH), Prof. Norifumi Namatame (Tohoku Fukushi University, Japan) and Prof. Michael DiGregorio.
First, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh illustrated the general process of doing research and methods; the role of data and data analysis in research.
The workshop was held for USSH’s young lecturers on two days August 17th-18th, 2018. Two main speakers were Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Chinh (USSH) and Prof. Stan BH Tan-Tangbau (RMIT University).
On August 3rd and 4th, a seminar was held on the experiences of international publication for the staffs, lecturers and researchers of VNU-USSH, Hanoi.

Economic prosperity pertains to the development of the knowledge economy in which R&I is crucial. Vietnam is currently one of the South East Asia’s fastest-growing economies, classified by the World Bank as lower middle-income. The country is making economic progress thanks to an efficient labour market, a strong innovation potential and a broad internal market. However, challenges in R&I management, leadership and implementation are increasing.
During the month of August, 2018, An Giang University staff implemented 6 replication workshops following the structure and using the materials from the trainings received in the framework of ENHANCE project.

Recently, HUAF held the 3rd Training Replication on Formalized procedures: Intellectual property; contractual framework; internal approval process (29/06/2018) and the 4th Training Replication on Exploitation and commercialisation; research evaluation and spin-off creation (30/06/2018) both in the framework of the ENHANCE project.
On May, 29th 2018, the 6th Replication Training Workshop: “Exploitation and commercialization: Research evaluation” was organized by Thai Nguyen university (TNU). The workshop has attracted attention from 58 lecturers, researchers, and managers of TNU. The seminar workshop is one of the components of the ENHANCE project “Strengthening National Research and Innovation Capacities in Vietnam”. It aimed to encourage researchers to take part in shaping regional research and to provide discussion on current research and development approaches and tools.
The Second Training Replication on Research Management had been organised by ENHANCE partners from Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry on May 19th , 2018. The 5th replication training workshop: “Contractual framework and Internal Approval” was held on May, 14th 2018 at Thai Nguyen university (TNU) under the background of the Strengthening National Research and Innovation Capacities in Vietnam by ENHANCE project.
With the support from the ENHANCE project funded by the Erasmus+ program, the 4th Replication Training Workshop: “Technology Audits and Business Engagement” has taken place at Thai Nguyen University (TNU) on April 20, 2018, with the participation of 52 attendants including the leaders, staff and faculty members from TNU.
On April 12th, 2018, in the framework of the Strengthening National Research and Innovation Capacities in Vietnam (ENHANCE) project funded by the Erasmus+ program, Thai Nguyen University (TNU) successfully hosted the 3rd replication training workshop with a theme “Technology Transfer and Technology offers - Concepts, theory, and good practices from Thai Nguyen University’s research projects”.
In the framework of the Erasmus+ ENHANCE Project Can Tho University (CTU), VIET HEIs partner, organised 8 replication training workshops (Modules) for the target audience from March to early June, 2018.
The 3rd ENHANCE National Workshop “Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer of University-based Research” took place on the 16th of March, 2018 at Thai Nguyen city, Vietnam, hosted by Thai Nguyen University.
Both the 5th & 6th Training Workshops on “Research methodology: peer review; commercial appraisal” & “Alternative KT pathways: Work based learning; social innovation” took place on the 14th and 15th of March, 2018 at Thai Nguyen University, Thai Nguyen city, Vietnam. The 2nd ENHANCE Round Table “Promoting research applications via university spin-offs" took place on the 27th of October 2017 in Can Tho city, Vietnam, hosted by Can Tho University.
It brought together managers and researchers from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Research Institutes, Science and Technology (S&T) authorities, representatives from the private sector and relevant stakeholders in Vietnam to exchange ideas on promoting research applications via university spin-offs.
The 4th Training Workshop on “Exploitation and Commercialisation: Research Evaluation and spin-off Creation" took place on the 25-26th of October, 2017 at Can Tho University, Can Tho city Vietnam. The workshop, deliverd by SlovenkÁ TechinickÁ Univerzita V Bratislave (STUBA), was co-organised by CTU and the University of Alicante (UA), coordinator of the ENHANCE project.

Last 25th May the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), which manages different EU education programmes on behalf of the European Commission, organised a cluster meeting for all Vietnamese Higher Education Institution partners of selected Capacity Building for Higher Education projects. The 1st ENHANCE training workshop “Innovation Theory and Practice & Research Funding" has been hosted by VNU University of Social Sciences, Hanoi (USSH) in Hanoi, Vietnam on 3rd and 4th October 2016.
The eight Vietnamese institutions had the opportunity to learn STU practice in terms of research management, technology transfer and links with industry.
After the Study Visit to the University of Alicante the ENHANCE consortium moved to the United Kingdom, where the Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) hosted its Study Visit.
