The recommendations focus on fostering a more effective management of the resources available and the creation of a favourable context for the business sector.

3rd National Workshop “Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer of University-based Research”

To boost the economic growth in Vietnam, the 3rd National Workshop on “Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer of University-based Research” was conducted to discuss on the possible approaches in transferring result of University-based research studies to industry and to discuss approaches for the identification of valuable practice of intellectual property. In this way, links and cooperation were built up between university-based research groups and industry.

2nd ENHANCE Round Table “Promoting research applications via university spin-offs”

The main aim of the 2^nd ENHANCE Round Table that took place on the 27^th of October 2017 in Can Tho City, Vietnam, hosted by Can Tho University, was to exchange ideas on promoting research applications via university spin-offs. This is meant to encourage dialogue and strengthen cooperation links and partnerships among academia, researchers, industries/private sector and policy makers. The objective of the Round Table was to foster a discussion on a strategy for establishing university spin-offs.

2nd National Workshop “Strategies for commercialization of Research Products”

The main aim of the 2^ndENHANCE National Workshop, hosted by An Giang University (AGU) in Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province, Vietnam, in 18th May 2017, was to strength the links between academia and industry fostering joint initiatives in the field of research and innovation. As a result of this event, Research and Innovation (R&I) Units at VIET HEIs should be able to identify how to improve their support services to research groups and engage with industry.

National Needs Analysis Report: "Research and Innovation Management and Implementation in Vietnam"

The main objective this report is to provide an in-depth analysis of the situation of Vietnamese HEIs in terms of research and innovation management and implementation. Furthermore, it will serve to detect the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis) for HEIs in Vietnam in terms of management and implementation.

Surveys and interviews in researching social sciences and humanities

That was the content of the workshop for USSH’s staff, lecturers, and postgraduates held on August 24^th and August 25^th.
The young researchers listened to 3 speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh (Vice Dean of Faculty of Sociology, USSH), Prof. Norifumi Namatame (Tohoku Fukushi University, Japan) and Prof. Michael DiGregorio.
First, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh illustrated the general process of doing research and methods; the role of data and data analysis in research.

Training workshop “Designing international research projects: skills and experiences” in Hanoi

The workshop was held for USSH’s young lecturers on two days August 17th-18th, 2018. Two main speakers were Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Chinh (USSH) and Prof. Stan BH Tan-Tangbau (RMIT University).
