Who we are

The Office of Science, Technology & International Cooperation is a unit of the Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF). It is aimed at giving advices to the Rector Board about planning, implementation and management of Science-Technology to promote effective research activities in the field of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, rural development and environment toward a leading research-based university in the above-mentioned specialization in central region and throughout country.

Currently, the Office is operated by 1 Vice-Rector, 1 Head and 1 Deputy Head, 5 staff and researchers (3 with Master degrees and 2 with Bachelor degrees) from many different backgrounds as Agriculture, Environmental Management, Economic, International Relations.

Where we are

HUAF is located in Hue city, Central Vietnam where the old capital before Ha Noi capital is now. The city is very famous in culture and human heritages, beautiful landscape from the mountain to the coast.

The Office of Science, Technology & International Cooperation has three rooms at the Second Floor of Administrative Building in HUAF.

What we offer

To develop short-term, mid-term and long-term strategy for research and innovation of HUAF;
To promote the cooperation among researchers in the country and abroad to develop scientific programs in the field of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, rural development and environment to the meet the demand of society towards serving industrialization and modernization of central region and Vietnam;
To improve effectiveness of scientific research programs both basic and applied research;
To develop policies to facilitate and attract leading professors inside and outside the country to enhance the quality and quantity of research works;
To search funds from national and international sources in order to chair or participate in research projects with the aim to enhance research and innovation capacities of HUAF’s staff; to improve infrastructure, equipment and facilities for research activities;
To promote the publication of research works on scientific journals, especially international journals and enforcing policies to reward the HUAF’s staff with articles published on international journals with high impact factor;
To establish cooperation among universities and institutions inside and outside the country to strengthen capacities of HUAF’s staff and students through seminars, training courses, workshops, conferences or exchange programs.

That was the content of the workshop for USSH’s staff, lecturers, and postgraduates held on August 24^th and August 25^th.
The young researchers listened to 3 speakers: Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh (Vice Dean of Faculty of Sociology, USSH), Prof. Norifumi Namatame (Tohoku Fukushi University, Japan) and Prof. Michael DiGregorio.
First, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Tuan Anh illustrated the general process of doing research and methods; the role of data and data analysis in research.

Training workshop “Designing international research projects: skills and experiences” in Hanoi

The workshop was held for USSH’s young lecturers on two days August 17th-18th, 2018. Two main speakers were Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Chinh (USSH) and Prof. Stan BH Tan-Tangbau (RMIT University).
